Tipsy Tea Party Serves Up Spiked Cocktails + Cooler Canapés at this Phoenix Hotel
The Camby, an urban lifestyle destination in the heart of Phoenix, has announced a new afternoon tea every Friday and Saturday starting Sept. 23 at The Bees Knees. Never mind the pinkies up: Tipsy Tea Party is a modern twist on the tradition, where a lively atmosphere features tea served in quirky cups alongside elevated sweet-and-savory bites.
“We’ve tossed out the rule book on high tea,” said Joe Martin, director of food & beverage for The Camby. “This whimsical weekend event is the essence of The Camby, providing guests with an urban playground that escapes the ordinary.”
The Tipsy Tea Party will take place every Friday and Saturday afternoon, starting Sept. 23, from 2-5 p.m. at The Bees Knees inside The Camby.
Options will include chilled tea-infused cocktails like Havana Rising with white rum, vodka, lemon juice, and green tea simple syrup, hot tea-infused cocktails like the Spiced Pear Toddy with bourbon, lemon juice, demerara simple syrup, spiced pear liqueur, and earl grey tea and tea-infused champagne cocktails like Eastern Orchestra with Chambord, Moet ice imperial, lemon juice, and orchid oolong simple syrup. Tea mocktails and straight tea are also available.
Afternoon nibbles come courtesy of Executive Chef Dushyant Singh, forgoing formal finger fare with a lively menu at The Bees Knees. New spins on the tea sandwich include a savory mango crab avocado slider, fried cherry green tomatoes with preserved lemon aioli, aji amarillo tater tot and caviar, herb ricotta and Iberico lomo bruschetta, and truffle deviled egg with potato chip dust. The sweet life: There’s pistachio cream pie, no-bake citrus cheesecake, French macaroons and sublime éclairs with passion fruit and raspberry. A modern event space with a Prohibition-era feel, The Bees Knees sets the Biltmore neighborhood abuzz with its classic yet edgy style.
The tea is $40 per person and includes one of every dish from the prix-fix menu, a choice of tea cocktail to be served in a teapot and a finale of sweet treats. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made on ArtizenAZ.com or by calling 602-522- 6655.
