Unbaked, an edible cookie dough eatery, will be the first brick and mortar dessert shop of its kind in Arizona. The locally owned and operated eatery opened to the public Father’s Day, with grand opening festivities planned for Friday, June 22. The shop, specializing in safe-to-eat raw cookie dough is located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale in the newly constructed 2nd Street Hub buildings at 3712 N. Scottsdale Road.
The new concept was inspired by the growing trend of edible cookie dough shops opening in major cities across the U.S. Phoenix business owner, Perry Peterson, with his daughter, McKenzie June, wanted to introduce the idea to metro Phoenix, but with their own cool twist. The modern space features Instagram-able neon signage and the company’s emoji-inspired logo that will adorn the walls, along with humorous word art decorating the hallway wall and bathroom areas.
Peterson explains, “We wanted to design a cool space to attract customers, but we understand it’s quality, taste, and service that brings customers back with their friends.”
The menu will feature 10 to 12 cookie dough flavors, including a classic chocolate chip cookie, brownie batter, cookies and cream, gluten-free oatmeal cinnamon, gluten-free peanut butter, a vegan chocolate chip, as well as seasonal offerings. The ice cream, also made in-house, will come in several flavors as well. Customers can mix and match their dough and ice cream in a cup or cone, add toppings or request an ice cream sandwich. For the more traditional, there will also be baked cookies, and of course-- milk on tap.
“We’ve spent the last ten months creating dough and ice cream recipes and designing a space we think customers will love,” states June, general manager and chief dough-getter at Unbaked. “Now we’re just excited to open and have everyone try our treats.”
The grand opening on Friday, June 22 will begin when the shop opens at 12:00 p.m. until close at 11:00 p.m. Drawings for prizes will be held throughout the day.
