Restaurant Opening: Belle’s Nashville Kitchen

Old Town Scottsdale will be spiced up with some Southern charm in December 2020 with the implementation of Belle’s Nashville Kitchen, a locally-owned and operated honkytonk-themed bar and restaurant offering Nashville nightlife and comfort food classics day to night. This new hot spot's menu was developed by award-winning chef, Samantha Roberts, the chef who developed most of the menus for Riot Hospitality Group (Riot House, El Hefe Mexican Restaurant and Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row) and won the 2017 Foodist award for Best Chef.

Belle’s Nashville Kitchen will bring the taste of Music City to the heart of Oldtown Scottsdale with fiery flavors and classic eats along with shareable snacks and lighter options to delight anyone's palette. Arranged by appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts, the menu features dishes such as the Nashville original, Hot Chicken Sandwich (house fried chicken doused in spices and offered on a brioche bun with slaw and dill pickles), Honky Tonk Fries (topped with bacon, Nashville hot sauce, house-made blue cheese and green onions), a poke board, jambalaya, spicy barbecue sauce-baked salmon with pineapple salsa and almond rice, and a three-cheese mac and cheese sandwich, griddled between garlic bread with an option of adding bacon. For dessert, the go-to option is the pecan goo goo cluster brownie bites baked into a brownie batter served with ice cream.

The Music City themed restaurant concept features a mixology-forward cocktail program including an array of whiskey and bourbon craft cocktails such as Belle’s Old Fashioned (George Dickel 12, Amaro Montenegro, sugar and bitters) and the Cold Brew Old Fashioned (Old Forester 100, Mr. Black Cold Brew, simple syrup and Regan’s Orange Bitters). The creative cocktails continue with tequila, mezcal, rum and vodka variations including Belle’s On Wheels (Corazon Reposado Tequila, muddled serrano peppers, lime juice, raspberry puree, ginger beer, and a spicy Nashville hot rim with Tajín).

The atmosphere is inspired by Honky Tonk Highway filled with live music and endless drinks -- lively, upbeat, hospitable and adds a little taste of Nashville with its rustic, old charm design mixed with new age country. Reclaimed wood taken from owner Mike Haley’s patio in San Diego is intertwined with the original arch and vintage backbar from the legendary Lulu Belle’s, a wildly popular Gay 1890s-themed restaurant and watering hole that operated from the 1950s to the 1990s in the space where Belle’s Nashville Kitchen exists today. Design elements such as musical instruments and repurposed wallpaper from the Lulu Belle’s era are a tribute to Nashville and the iconic Scottsdale institution. Due to its history, owner Mike Haley decided to celebrate Lulu Belle's by naming Belle's Nashville Kitchen after its long-time predecessor.

The grand opening, which will follow COVID-19 protocols, will be on Dec. 12, 2020 featuring a Honky Tonk brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., brunch acoustic guitarist from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., happy hour guitarist from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., table side whiskey tastings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Happy Hour specials all day with options such as $4 Honky Tonk Fries, $4 Kool-Aid Pickles, $8 Nashville Hot Chicken Fingers, $3 Coors Light Draft Beer, and $4 Southern Spitz along with other specials and activities.

Located at 7212 E.
